A superb example of 1960s Danish design, this model 330-119 secretaire by Johannes Sorth for Bornholm Møbelfabrik combines clever storage with a practical pull-out writing desk.
The upper bookcase has two adjustable shelves, while the tambour doors open to reveal three drawers and a useful sectioned storage area. The writing surface slides neatly in and out when required. Below, sliding doors with distinctive round recessed handles reveal further storage with an adjustable shelf.
Made in Denmark and stamped BM to the rear, the piece is in excellent vintage condition and has not been restored, retaining its original finish and character.
A beautifully designed and highly versatile piece — equally at home as a desk, study storage or statement piece of Danish mid-century furniture.
