platner side table
Warren Platner for Knoll Side Table | £995
A true modernist classic, this Platner side table was designed by Warren Platner in 1966 and manufactured by Knoll.
The sculptural base is formed from hundreds of individually welded polished nickel-plated steel rods, creating Platner’s distinctive “wire” structure beneath the clear glass top. The result is an elegant contrast between the intricate metallic base and the simplicity of the circular top.
A design that is as much sculpture as furniture, and one of the defining pieces of 1960s American modernism.
