We have seven refurbished Ercol Model 461 stacking chairs, originally commissioned by the Ministry of Education in the 1950s for use in British schools.
Designed to be strong, practical and durable, all versions featured solid elm seats and sturdy beech frames, with the different sizes identified by coloured dots. These examples are the green dot size.
Carefully refurbished, they retain the simple, functional charm of the original design and their robust construction makes them just as useful today. Perfect around a dining table, as occasional seating or for anyone looking for a practical piece of British mid-century design with a little history.
