50s siesta armchairs
Pair of E-Gomme Model 411 Siesta Chairs | £895 Each
An exceptional piece of early British mid-century design, the Model 411 Siesta Chair was designed by V.B. Wilkins for E-Gomme, the company that would later become G-Plan.
Produced in 1956, the design is all about its remarkable sculptural form — from the dramatically angled, kicked-back legs rising into smooth, ergonomic armrests, to the beautifully curved seat that appears to float within the oak frame.
Both chairs have been fully restored. The solid oak frames have been carefully refinished, revealing a warm pale blonde tone, while the beech-framed seats have been stripped back and rebuilt with brand-new foam and upholstery.
A rare and highly desirable chair that looks striking from every angle — and is as much a piece of sculpture as it is somewhere to sit.
